The sandy beach of Kato Stalos, is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and has been awarded a blue flag for its cleanliness and organization. Southward towards the mainland, Pano Stalos is a picturesque example of traditional Cretan architecture while surrounded by lush green olive groves and beautiful rock formations. Overall it is an excellent holiday destination, just 7 km west of Chania, the second largest city in Crete. It is an ideal base for exploring the island, with regular public transport to and from the city center. In the evenings, take a stroll along the promenade, where you can find many cafes, restaurants, cretan tavernas and bars.
